Understanding fees & payment limits
Supporters cover checkout fees. Creators keep the base smile amount and new withdrawals are free.
Creator earnings equal the base smile amount. Myhappr fees are shown in the payment subtotal, and Flutterwave shows its payment-processing fee before authorization.
New withdrawals send the full available creator balance, with no withdrawal deduction.
What supporters pay
The Myhappr subtotal is the base smile amount plus the platform fee, creator payout cost, and a small reserve for the tax Flutterwave charges Myhappr on its processing fee. Flutterwave adds the exact processing fee after the supporter chooses a payment method. The currency selector changes the supporter's checkout currency; creator earnings stay in the configured payout currency.
Platform fee: Free versus Pro
The Free plan adds a 5% platform fee to the base tip, paid by the supporter. Active Pro removes this 5% fee. Pro does not waive payment processing or creator payout costs.
Payment processing
Processing costs vary by payment method, card origin, currency, and taxes. Flutterwave calculates the processing fee at hosted checkout and shows the final amount before the supporter authorizes payment. Flutterwave requires Myhappr to bear VAT on that fee, so the subtotal includes a conservative VAT reserve.
Creator payout fee at checkout
This upfront fee helps cover sending earnings to the creator's payout account. It is charged per support payment, based on the creator's payout currency and the base tip, and includes the VAT Flutterwave charges on transfer fees. It is not deducted again when the creator withdraws.
NGN transfer fee before VAT: 10 NGN for a base tip up to 5,000 NGN; 25 NGN up to 50,000 NGN; 50 NGN above that.
GHS bank transfer fee before VAT: 10 GHS. Flutterwave's separate 1.5% Ghana rate applies to mobile-money payouts, not Myhappr bank withdrawals.
If the supporter chooses another checkout currency, the payout fee is converted into that currency. Rates and rounding can affect the displayed amount.
Nigeria Free plan example
3 Smiles at 1,000 NGN each: base tip 3,000 NGN.
Platform fee: 150 NGN. Creator payout cost including VAT: 10.75 NGN.
Processing VAT reserve: 12 NGN.
Myhappr subtotal: 3,172.75 NGN. Flutterwave then displays its processing fee.
Creator earns 3,000 NGN. When that balance is available, a new withdrawal sends 3,000 NGN. Withdrawal fee: Free.
Nigeria Pro plan example
Base tip: 3,000 NGN. Platform fee: 0 NGN. Payout cost including VAT: 10.75 NGN.
Processing VAT reserve: 11.43 NGN.
Myhappr subtotal: 3,022.18 NGN. Flutterwave then displays its processing fee.
Creator earns and can withdraw the full 3,000 NGN after settlement.
Ghana Free plan example
Base tip: 50 GHS. Platform fee: 2.50 GHS. Payout cost including VAT: 10.75 GHS.
Processing VAT reserve: 0.25 GHS.
Myhappr subtotal: 63.50 GHS. Flutterwave then displays its processing fee.
Creator earns 50 GHS. A new withdrawal sends the full available 50 GHS.
Checkout currency examples across all supported currencies
Myhappr accepts supporter payments worldwide in US dollars (USD), Canadian dollars (CAD), euros (EUR), British pounds (GBP), Kenyan shillings (KES), Nigerian naira (NGN), and Ghanaian cedi (GHS). Checkout currencies are flexible for the supporter: creators receive the converted base tip into their local payout currency (NGN in Nigeria or GHS in Ghana).

These examples assume the converted base tip is the amount shown. Myhappr adds the platform and converted creator payout fees to form the subtotal. Flutterwave then adds its actual processing fee. The creator receives the equivalent base tip in their configured payout currency. Exchange rates and rounding vary; Flutterwave shows the final amount before payment authorization.
Settlement and payment limits
Free withdrawals still require settled earnings, a configured payout account, a business day, and the minimum withdrawal balance. International-currency tips can take longer to settle than local tips. Only one withdrawal can be in progress at a time.
Per-payment limits apply to the base support amount and total checkout charge. The live form shows errors if your payment exceeds those limits. Creator payout setup is currently enabled for Nigeria and Ghana.
Historical withdrawals
Older withdrawals may show a fee that was deducted under the previous model. Those records remain accurate; they are not rewritten as free withdrawals.
